I went looking at Bentleys for the fun of it and here is what I found.
Brand new 2015 Bentley Mulsanne $474,580
http://wwwa.autotrader.ca/a/Bentley/Muls…
And here we have a 2013 Bentley Mulsanne with 24,774kms (15,484 miles) for the paltry sum of $228,888.
http://wwwa.autotrader.ca/a/Bentley/Muls…
That’s a depreciation of $245,692 in 2 years. 52% depreciation!!! or $15.87 bucks per mile!
This is one of those times where buying a certified pre owned is a massively better value.
BONUS:
2009 Bentley Brooklands 21,440kms (13,400 miles) for $175,800

Dat Brooklands though. I can’t quite tell, but it looks like a true pillarless coupe. Is it?

Would drive leisurely while eating grey poupon sandwiches.

Wow, that a lot of car for the price. Problem is, I wouldn’t buy one of these to drive, I’d buy one to be driven in.

You gonna drive with your knees? One hand holding monocle, one holding a mustard sandwich, knees steering?

It is fine sir.

Excuse me while I change my pants.

:D still way out of my price range

I had read somewhere that 90% of Bentley customers pay cash. Insane.

Monocles are my great grandfathers eyewear. It’s well known that the current style is the nez-pince for precisely the reason of eating mustard sandwiches in half million dollar vehicles.

WELL EXCUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSE ME

It would make sense but if you are uber rich wouldn’t you want to stay uber rich? Why would they pay 500K just to lose half of it in 2 years.
If I was uber rich I’d buy the used one and have that much more money left to make me money.

These would look great on someones Golf.

I think the mindset would be that, if you’re uber-rich there is no reason to buy used when you can have new fit to your specifications. Plus, I don’t think there are billionaires that would worry about the resale on a vehicle that is worth the low-six digits.
Maybe the slightly rich, if that is a thing? Executives of medium companies that make enough to buy these cars but not necessarily every year? It would be interesting to see the demographics and net worth of Bentley customers.

Because your rich friends won't be impressed with a 2 year old Bentley
![]() 09/10/2015 at 11:46 |

Dat brooklands tho
![]() 09/10/2015 at 11:54 |

Well, if your friends are that rich and aloof, they wouldn’t know a 2013 Bentley from a 2015, nor would they care.
Unless they are asshole car enthusiasts who judge people by the age of their car.

This wide chrome frames look too nouveau riche
Brooklands in contrast is so classy!

Is that true?! Because that is a hell of a fact.
![]() 09/10/2015 at 18:13 |

So, how much do I have to wait so these become reasonably priced?
![]() 09/10/2015 at 19:04 |

I believe so.
